My cat was undergoing treatment in a hospital for an unrelated disease at the time. There, she scratched her leg. As the vets were busy treating something else, they missed an infection. Until it was too late.
My cat’s expectations were broken, too. Without her hind leg, she was just a fraction of what she thought she was designed to be.
Meanwhile, my cat learned how to walk anew. For now, it was easier for her to lie down on her side and crawl by sticking her claws into the carpet and furniture. She got very fast at crawling. My partner called her a spider cat. I was happy because crawling is better than nothing.
